Slide Decks
- Developed slide decks, from concept inception to final version over multiple rounds of internal and external review. Slide decks were presented at quarterly meetings for primary physicians.
- Topics spotlighted quality performance metrics and provided practical, actionable takeaways. Topics covered included:
- Bisphosphonates and fracture risk in patients over the age of 65 years
- Chlamydia and gonorrhea infection and screening in adolescents
- EpiPen® pricing controversy and solutions to increase patient access to EpiPen®
- Avoidance of antibiotic treatment for acute bronchitis, with companion Cold & Flu Symptom prescription to distribute to patients
- Improving uptake of human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination in adolescents
- The opioid crisis and CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain
- Proposed and created slide deck on biosimilars in inflammatory bowel disease for gastroenterologists. Slide deck included information about FDA Purple Book Database of Licensed Biological Products and approval process for biosimilar and interchangeable biologics.
- Created internal on-boarding materials for pharmacists working at a call center for a national health insurer. Materials developed included slide decks and reference documents used for two patient outreach campaigns, Naloxone Outreach and Statin Use in Patients with Diabetes.
Content Development
- Researched, developed, and updated internal prior authorization criteria to guide approval of physician requests to use high-cost medications to treat their patients. Elicited and incorporated feedback from medical directors before presenting to physician-led committee for approval. Guidelines developed and updated included:
- addition of new indications for Stelara®, Keytruda®, Opdivo®, and Tecentriq®
- addition of newly FDA-approved orphan drugs, Spinraza® and Exondys 51®
- Created high-level summaries of guideline changes for primary care and specialty physicians, including use of Prevnar® and Pneumovax® vaccines, Shingrix® and Zostavax® vaccines, and Cologuard® screening test for colon cancer.
- Summarized vaccine coverage under Medicare for physicians and their office staff. Included proper billing codes and whether to bill under Part B or Part D benefits.
- Developed a Cold & Flu Symptom Rx pad for primary care providers to promote antibiotic stewardship and encourage patients to use over-the-counter medications and supportive care for treatment of viral illnesses.
- Summarized practice guidelines for initiation of bisphosphonates in patients with osteoporosis for orthopedic specialists. Summary included pricing and insurance coverage comparison for each medication.
Editing
- Edited outreach letters, reports, memos, and fax blasts for campaigns targeting network physicians and patients. Campaigns included childhood immunization status, colorectal cancer screening, and breast cancer screening, among others.
- Provided feedback and editing on patient call scripts used by a national health insurer to improve call answer and conversion rates. Call scripts were used by pharmacy technicians and pharmacists in Medication Therapy Management, Medication Reconciliation, and Naloxone Outreach Campaigns.
